The questions that come up most. If yours is not here, write to us — we would rather answer it than have you guess.
What is the difference between a bargain, a delivery plan and a delivery?
A bargain is the contract — what was agreed, with whom, at what rate. A delivery plan is the intention to move part of it: which tank, which vessel, what quality. A delivery is cargo that has actually left. Only deliveries move a bargain’s balance; a plan reserves nothing, because plans are made and dropped all the time.
One plan, several lorries — do I raise a plan for each?
No. Raise one plan for the parcel and record a lifting against it each time a vehicle goes. The plan shows Part delivered with a falling balance until the last one, then closes itself. Deleting a lifting returns its quantity to the plan and to the bargain.
Why can I not edit commodities, units or payment conditions?
Those are shared across every firm on Trade2Tech. A metric tonne is a metric tonne, and a commodity’s HSN code does not change depending on whose book it is in — holding one copy means a wrong code is corrected once rather than in every firm separately. Ask us and the change appears in all your books at once. Your own parties, terminals, vessels, banks and duty notifications are yours to edit.
Why does my bargain need approving before I can plan a delivery?
So the record proves that these terms were approved, not merely that someone once pressed a button. Changing a commercial figure on an approved bargain sends it back for approval; changing a remark does not.
Can I change a contract number?
No. It is allocated in an unbroken sequence per financial year and is how you, the buyer and the seller all refer to one deal. A bargain split into a chain gets lettered legs — 70a, 70b — which share the parent’s number.
I belong to more than one firm. How do I switch?
Use the firm name at the top left. Switching keeps you on the same screen where the target firm has one, so bargains stays on bargains. Your role and permissions are per firm — being an admin of your own says nothing about your standing in someone else’s.
Can I get a list out as a spreadsheet?
Every list has an Export button. It exports exactly what you are looking at — your chosen columns, your sort, your filter — as a CSV that opens in Excel.
Something looks wrong. Who do I tell?
Email info@trade2tech.com with the contract or plan number and what you expected to see. Every change in the portal is recorded in the firm’s activity log, so we can usually tell you exactly what happened and when.
